This training program is under Quality Improvement Program sponsored by University of Pune, Pune. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used in design of thermal fluid machinery, automobile, aerospace and chemical industry. OpenFOAM is free-to-use Open Source numerical simulation software with extensive CFD and multi-physics capabilities. Capabilities are near to commercial softwares and its source code is available to user and can be modified as per need. Large numbers of OpenFoam users are available in industry, academia and research labs in Europe and America. Software under active development, capabilities mirrors those of commercial CFD software. Wide range of modules is available for different physics. Industry needs such free software to reduce product development cost. Main thrust in workshop will be hands on practice.
